Yes, it may seem like Halloween is a long way off, but for those who savor the Autumnal season and all that it brings-Halloween and Fall can't come soon enough (apologies to those in other parts of the world in the midst of the time. ;) With that said, here are the details (rules too) for the Halloween Tarot Project.

IMPORTANT:
To participate, you MUST note me by private message which top three MAJOR or Court Cards you wish to illustrate. By offering me three choices, I'm more likely to be able to give you a card you most wish to illustrate. Also, I hope to avoid numerous submissions say, of the High Priestess etc. There are those who prefer to leave the card they are assigned to chance, and that's cool too-just INFO me of that decision.
I'll be taking signups until I have enough artists to complete a Majors plus Court cards Tarot deck. I will be operating with a "first come, first served" mindset so the sooner you make the request for your card-the more likely you'll get one of the three you've messaged me for.

The intent of this project is that once all cards are in, the artists (only) will have printable works (meaning high res, dpi etc) to make copies of, for adding to their hard copy tarot collections or for displaying, tipping into journals etc. You will be expected to submit a d/loadable copy for that purpose, and once the project is done-THEN add your watermark to prevent those who should NOT get "freebies" from getting them.

Size: MUST be 4x6", in Portrait/Vertical format.

Name & Number MUST be included on your card. Roman numerals please, for uniformity's sake.

There is no "required stock" for this project however, you ARE expected to keep in mind that your card has a specific meaning and your work needs to interpret that meaning so the card is actually usable/readable. Please make sure you understand enough of the card's concept to show it off. If need be, do some research. This site will be of great use to you for seeing what's "out there" in Tarotdom artistically, in finding meanings and symbology. Use it: aeclectic.net/tarot/

Finally, this is a Halloween project. Some prefer to think of it as "Samhain." Either way, please stick with the theme. No cartoons. There should be some "scare" in this project. Autumnal imagery can work, as long as your card "fits" as a Halloween card.  I ask that you submit your best work. The idea of being "first in" at the expense of taking time to do something remarkable-let's "pass" on that.

I reserve the right to decline a submission if I deem it necessary.

DUE DATE for Submissions: October 8th 2012. I will be working closely with this committed group to ensure that each card is represented. If someone commits to a card and then drops out-I'll be finding a replacement. REMEMBER this is to be a fully realized MAJORS/Court cards Tarot. Please stay true if you sign on. Thanks, everyone. I look forward to the HAUNTINGS!
